First Concentration Piece

My concentration for my AP Studio Art portfolio is "People I Love" and more specifically, how I view the people I love. My first piece is a portrayal of a little girl my parents fostered a few years ago, her name was Josie. Josie was always giggling, a constant source of entertainment and encouragement for those around her. She was vibrant and playful, you couldn't miss her. In order to portray her, I used acrylic paint on gray paper, I chose to use purple and yellow because they are as vivacious in color as Josie was in spirit. The laugh portrayed is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of her. After painting the picture, I cut it out and modge-podged it onto a wooden canvas. I hope you enjoy it!
